Requirements for earning the
German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency
(Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst)

To earn the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency, one must complete the following requirements.
The badge is awarded in gold, silver or bronze. Color is determined by
the results of the pistol shoot and the road march. Bundeswehr personnel must certify
both events.

1. German Sports Badge : Must have earned the German Sports Badge no more than one year prior.
|
|
2. First Aid Course : Must have completed a first aid course no more than 5 years prior. Either American Red Cross or US Army Combat Lifesaver courses are acceptable.
|
|
3. Evaluation Report : Must posess a military personnel evaluation report (NCOER or OER) that states that the soldier meets or exceeds the general
standards of efficiency in his/her MOS/MFA.
|
|
4. Pistol Marksmanship : Must use a semi-automatic pistol, the 9mm US M9 Baretta is acceptable. This event must be completed before the road march.

Distance : 25m
Position : Standing, unsupported, two-hands, first shot double-action.
Targets : Three "standing soldier" sillouettes
(each 1.1m x .57m).
Qualification :
Bronze: All three targets hit once.
Sliver: All three targets hit once, plus one target hit twice (4 hits total).
Gold: All three targets hit, plus two targets hit twice (5 hits total).

5. Foot March : Complete a foot march in BDUs, boots, and carry a rucksack weighing no less than 10 (German) kg. Requirements for age and gender listed below.
